FIRAAQ - A question to all of us ..

Nandita Das has made her directional debut with Firaaq.. The movie is a touching one and as expected has been made well.. The star-cast suits the characters perfectly.. Naseeruddin Shah is perfect like always.. This movie doesn't end with any conclusion, rather it is an attempt to make people think of the situation with which Muslims go through, even when a common Muslim wants to live a normal life.. And how these riots (which always get political support from the ruling party) just result in blood all over.. This movie is a lot different from the other movies which were earlier made on the Gujarat riots; Nandita has not just shown the killing in the whole movie, rather the movie stresses on the relationships, human-mentality and common public's understanding to the situation like these .. Every character of the movie shows a different class of the society and the movie makes you think that "killing in return to killing", is it really worth ?? The problem is not a Muslim, who also wishes to lead a common life by educating his child and earning daily bread .. The problem is - the handful of religious people who give the starting fire to all these activities. The movie is a must-watch.. A nice work from Nandita Das..
