Unemployed Engineers - Whose mistake is it ??

I got a chance to interview some candidates for the post of Programmer recently .. and let me tell you, I am really shocked .. People have been talking about unemployment a lot .. But, now i am able to understand why is it there ..

I mean nothing exists in this world without a need and thats true ... Let me give you a brief idea about the recent happenings .. I was interviewing people who are BTECH/MCA, and the post draws a salary of 20K in class-A city of India, which is quite decent ..

When I asked them about Joins, they are not able to explain it..
Indexes, a fellow says it was very advanced topic , so i din read that ..
They don't know the difference between Server side and Client side scripting , though they have done their final year project on Web Technology and most of those were online projects ..
I can keep on telling more jokes like this .. But i was trying to analyze the reason for it ..

The reason is more number of colleges , which are spreading like mushrooms everywhere .. I don know how these college people are managing the quality at their institutions .. Off course, u cant expect a lot of quality when Btechs teach Btechs ..

So, when the quality of the product is so bad, who is gonna take it .. This justifies the unemployment .. There is no unemployment for those who have quality, those who have capability ..

For all parents, and students too, if u ever read this post by chance, PLEASE don't try doing Btech assuming that the degree would give you a job .. It won't .. Its ur quality which would fetch you a job .. and trust me in our software industry it works a lot .. So, those who are still in their degree phase, please work hard and learn things .. Make yourself suitable for the industry ..
